The Titanic has been modeled a thousand times over the years, but I've always wanted to do my own version. I tried it when I first started modeling, but I didn't have the skills yet and it was just a frustrating mess. So now that I know my way around a bit better, we'll give it another shot :)
Is this going to be the most accurate model ever? No... but if you're a Titanic geek, that's kind of a joke. There's a lot of info out there on the Titanic. We have the original blueprints, some old photos, a ton of documentation from Harland and Wolf, etc. Then there are things we have no clue about. What color were the funnels, exactly? The name of the color was "White Star Buff", but they didn't exactly give us a Home Depot paint code. Only so many photos of the ship exist, and there's a surprising amount that wasn't documented. So anytime someone says they're going to do the "most accurate" Titanic model, you gotta take that with a grain of salt :)
So what am I doing with this one? Well, I'm interested in doing exterior shots for the most part. So the boat deck and hull are gonna be pretty detailed. Interiors? Meh. There will be something inside the windows, but that's about all I can promise :)
Unlike some of my previous projects, I'm documenting this early. I always mean to, but then I never do :)
